What sets the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 Apart: Raving Review from Industry Expert

I’ve worked in the fitness equipment industry for the past 17 years, and for the last eight years I have primarily been reviewing treadmills and elliptical trainers.  During that time I have seen numerous design and technological developments.  In particular, I have watched the evolution of NordicTrack treadmills.

Back when I first started reviewing fitness equipment NordicTrack was offering run of the mill budget machines.  Then the company did a 180 degree turn, and started building treadmills at all levels, and equipping them with some of the most innovative features in the industry.  The NordicTrack treadmills of today are an evolutionary hybrid of the best design and technology found on any walking or running machines.

A perfect example is the NordicTrack Commercial 1500 Treadmill.  Like its competitors it is equipped with a powerful motor, large rollers, extra long running surface and comprehensive warranty, but that is where the similarities stop.

What NordicTrack realized is that potential customers were looking for more than a machine to walk and run on.  They needed a fitness product that would not only motivate, but also entertain.  People wanted a treadmill that not only helped them to achieve their fitness goals, but also to overcome the boredom of exercising in place.  Here are some examples of the unique features found on the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 treadmill, and why I rate it a “Best Buy”.

iFit® Technology – This technology has turned the industry on its head and it is light years ahead of the competition.  If you are not familiar with iFit® here is the cliff notes version.  iFit® allows your treadmill to communicate with the Internet, which opens endless possibilities. When you sign-up for iFit® through your online account you can create customized workout routines that include audio coaching and download them into your treadmill.  You can also trace routes with Google Maps and your treadmill will simulate the terrain.  Your stats are recorded onto your iFit® account, allowing you to track your progress. No other treadmill company has come close to simulating this interactive online experience.

Touch Screen Android Browser – The Android powered browser offers two benefits.  First, it allows you to access the Internet as you work out.  You don’t have to try and balance your laptop on the console; your browser is built into the display.  You can access your favorite web sites or your email.  In addition, you can get the full experience of running with Google Maps.  Once you trace your route you can visualize your run through Google Maps.

Ability to Both Incline and Decline – The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 treadmill is one of the few that allows you to decline the deck.  The advantage is that it can simulate going up and down hills.  It also allows you to target more lower body muscles.  When combined with Google Maps, you get the sensation of hiking up and down hills and mountains.

Also, it is noteworthy that NordicTrack equips their treadmills with some of the best sound systems in the industry.  Speakers are fairly standard on treadmills these days, however, many companies cheap out on this feature.  Some brands have speakers that are barely audible.  NordicTrack combines quality speakers with a good driver, giving above average audio.

If the NordicTrack Commercial 1750 treadmill did not have the above features it would still be one of the better values in its price range.  When you add the above options you have one of the best treadmill values at the competitive $1,500 price range.
